Interns Observe Cutting-edge Health Technology at PATH Headquarters

Updated: Oct 25, 2020

On Tuesday, November 6th, new interns toured the PATH headquarters in downtown Seattle. Interns observed PATH’s new cutting-edge health technology (such as home-birth kits for third-world countries) and the impact their developments have had in underdeveloped areas of the world.

Interns learned about how PATH communicates directly with users to ensure that products meet their needs. For example, when local people showed little interest in the home-birth kits, PATH communicated with them to find out why. PATH found that the white cloth included in the kits was associated with infants who have passed away; consequently, local mothers avoided using them. PATH was able to make a change according to the feedback, and the cloths are now white with red dots!
